I always try to make all my dishes look pretty and presentable and if they do not turn out as I had pictured them I feel quite disappointed and don't want to show them to anyone. The reason why I'm saying this, is because I guess I feel like that now. These broccoli and two cheese sticks are honestly soo good and packed with flavour even though they may not necessarily look it. I want to share this recipe simply because I think it's worth giving it a go but I will also be trying to improve their look, next time I make them.
Ingredients:
-broccoli
-cheddar cheese
-blue cheese
-salt
-chilli flakes
-fresh parsley
-breadcrumbs
First, chop your broccoli and boil it for about 3-4mins so that it softens a bit. Once you've cooked it and poured all the water away, pop the pieces in a food processor and mix.
In another bowl, mix your broccoli, breadcrumbs, some salt, chilli flakes and a little bit of chopped parsley. Lastly, add some grated cheddar cheese and crumbles of blue cheese (the second is optional as I'm aware not everyone loves blue cheese but it's worth trying it). Mix everything together and that's all the prep you need to do.
Shape your broccoli and cheese sticks to your desired form and cook them in a pre-heated oven at 180°, for about 20mins.
I served mine with some sweet chilli sauce and also had a few cheeky oven chips with them. You can also have them in a pita or tortilla with some salad. In fact, they're a great alternative to falafels and much easier to make.
